Tossing and turning

No wonder I never get any sleep with these kids.....they toss and turn like maniacs. Both of them originally had their heads on the top of the bed when I left them 2 hours before! Lucas was on the white pillow and Aiden on the blue one...Luna snuck in there to get some shut eye too, before I went in to go to bed. I would ship Lucas off to his own bed if he would stop waking up so many times in the night looking for me. Well, I guess Aiden was in our bed until he was 2....Lucas can have a few more months.

18 months old now, my Lucas, and realized after hearing his little cousin saying "no" that he might like it too....luckily he doesn't say it a lot!

Aiden threw a fit when Tina came to take him to school, I was at school with Lucas, so I missed it, but Tina dragged him out kicking and screaming....he was ok by the time he got to school.

He may not talk well, but I understood him...

When Aiden was little (and sometimes once in awhile these days, as well) he used to reenact all of his "owies" for me. This morning Lucas did his own reenactment, it was very cute. For background, Lucas has not been sleeping well from about 4am to 7am, I usually end up patting his back every 15 minutes to get him back to sleep. This morning, Aiden got me up so I went to sleep with him at about 6am, leaving Lucas with Fern. At 7:15, I went back to bed and I went to sleep on the other side of Lucas, shielded by a pillow. Fern got up to see what Aiden was doing. At almost 9, Lucas woke up and was making a little noise, I popped up my head to say good morning and he was surprised to see me. He said "Ma ma!" then looked over to where Fern usually sleeps and said "Da da". Then he started immitating himself in the middle of the night with his sad "ma ma ma ma" when he can't sleep. Then he starts patting a pillow and pointed over to Fern's empty spot and declared "Da da". I understood perfectly that he was telling me that Fern took over my job of getting him back to sleep.

late night dessert

Just when I thought...."hmmm... nothing too funny happened today for me to blog about......."
Aiden gets out during his bath because he wants to make "assert" (for some reason he likes to change some first syllables to an "a" sound), I tell him to wait until he is done, thinking that he will forget about it, or that it is some imaginary dessert. NO. I am on the phone with my neighbour, when just bathed, still naked Aiden gets out the lettuce dryer and starts dumping dried strawberries and dried blueberries in it, getting crumbs all over my table. Then when he realizes a lettuce dryer doesn't mix very well, he hauls out the food processor and brings it over to me, still on the phone. He has blackberries, grapes and frozen grapes in there, as well, by that time. So I decide to help him out (providing he puts on some PJ's) and we blend the concoction, which ended up tasting much better than I thought it would. Here is a photo after the fact, with the packages of the berries :-)

In other news today, Aiden started the YMCA Wide World of Sports class today with his friend Sean. He ran, skipped, galloped, played basketball, soccer, and did an obstacle course. He doesn't really skip, gallop or frog hop really well, probably due the fact that he always watched, instead of participating, at his Mommy and Me class. Hopefully, I will be able to teach him to do it before he goes back next week.

He also made it through his first week at preschool with his friend Bryce :-). He loves it and I am so glad we found this class. He runs around chanting Jack and Jill all of the time. We are working on Batman Valentines for his classmates now. Did we have Batman Valentines when I was a kid?

It has also been good for Lucas, as he is napping earlier (falls asleep in the car) and so he can go to bed at 8PM with his brother. Unfortunately that means mommy has to get up at 7AM instead of 8 or 9AM.
